[Current Music |James Blunt's "No Bravery"]

First time in a long time, that a song has made me cry. So true...

No Bravery

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
Tears drying on their face.
He has been here.
Brothers lie in shallow graves.
Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
Since he's been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
He has been here.
Tracer lighting up the sky.
It's another families‚ turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
He has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
He has been here.
Old men kneel and accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
A generation drenched in hate.
Yes, he has been here.

And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

Finally decided to cave in and go see Serenity, which is a pretty damn good movie. It really surpised me, but I may be a little biased since I actually like the television show as well. Anywho, go see it if you are into science-fiction.

You scored as Inara Serra. The Courtesan. You have a job that brings comfort to people and eases their burdens. It took years of training and dedication to perfect. So why do people keep calling you a whore? You tried to get away from those people, but something keeps bringing you back.

Inara Serra

Zoe Alleyne Washburne

Simon Tam

The Operative

Kaylee Frye

Shepherd Derrial Book

River Tam

Hoban 'Wash' Washburne

Capt. Mal Reynolds

Jayne Cobb

Which Serenity character are you?

Great I am a whore...oops...I mean Companion.

And on to other things. I got my hair cut, well all the split ends anyway. And I decided to go on ahead and get it highlighted. So I am a little more blond than before. Been wearing it straight and actually am liking it that way.

Now on to news. President Bush, apparently, is letting God call the shots in his administration. According to a BBC documentary Bush was told by God to invade Afganistan and Iraq and to create a Palestinian state in the Middle East. Now I don't really see anything to wrong with including God and its inferred thoughts on policies into what we do, but never would I think that I was directed by God to start a war. I am reminded of the immortal words of Abraham Lincoln who said something along the lines of, "I pray that I am on God's side, not that God is on my side." I really think Bush has it all wrong when it comes to religion and God and uses it as his scapegoat so he can do stuff that he knows is wrong. Of course the White House denies the claims, but what scares me is I actually believe them. Never have we had a President who is so "in-tune" with God. We have had very religious people in the office, but none who went so far as to speak for God. President Bush is another story though. He is simply a wingnut, pure and simple. Speaking of Bush, my mom told me about a shirt that she thought was hilarious; it said "The Only Bush I want to see in the White House is the one between Hilary's legs." At first I was totally shocked to hear my mom use the term bush, but yeah the shirt is funny. And finally a joke...

George Bush goes to a primary school to talk about the war.
After talking for a while he tells the children to go ahead and ask
about anything.

A little boy puts up his hand and George says: 'Yes, son, what's
your name?'

'And what is your question Bob?'

'Well I have three questions.'

1. Why did the US invade Iraq without the support of the UN?

2.Why are you president if Al Gore got more votes than you?

3.What happened to Osama Bin Laden? Just as he finishes his
questions, the school-bell rings and George says to the kids that
they'll continue after the break.

When the breaks over George says: Ehm, where were we? Ah,
right questions!

A little girl puts up her hand. George points at her and says:
what's your name then?

'And what's your question Sally?'

'Well, I have 5 questions.'

1. Why did the US invade Iraq without the support of the UN?

2.Why are you president if Al Gore got more votes than you?

3.What happened to Osama Bin Laden?

4.Why did the school-bell ring 20 minutes before it usually does?

5. And Where is Bob?

It's only funny because it's true.

Dolly Parton and Dreams of Theatre [Oct. 4th, 2005|03:37 am]
Terrance Lively
I got a pre-release of Dolly Parton's new CD and it is pretty good. She is doing a bunch of cover songs from the 60s and 70s like "Blowin' in the Wind" and "Imagine." I enjoyed it thouroughly. Of course I love my Dolly.

And now on to the dreams. I have had two dreams in the past three nights regarding theatre productions and the like. Where these dreams are coming from, I have no clue. The first dream was mildly erotic. I was a director-producer type and on stage were twelve beautiful men dancing in white briefs. But not stripper or even regular dancing, but ballet...like Swan Lake-Nutcracker type dancing. I ended up picking number twelve purely based on his dancing ablilites and then I woke up. So on to last night I had another theatre based dream...much wierder though. It featured dancers as well only this time it was three...dressed in bird costumes of red, orange, and yellow. Who proceded to dance and exit the stage only to replaced by another group of three men. Well either I am horny or need to go see a theatre production.

The Boy Next Door
Random Gentle Love Dreamer (RGLDm)

Kind, yearning, playful, you are The Boy Next Door. You're looking for real Love, a lot like girls do. It might not be manly, but it's sweet.

We think the next three years will be very exciting and fruitful ones for you. Your spontaneous, creative side makes you a charming date, and we think you have a horny side just waiting to shine. Or glisten, rather. You enter new relationships unusually hopeful, and the first moments are especially glorious. If you've had some things not work out before, so what.

Your exact opposite:
The 5-Night Stand

Deliberate Brutal Sex Master
On paper, most gay guys would name the Boy Next Door as their ideal mate. In the real world, however, you're often passed over for more dangerous or masculine men. You're the typical "nice guy:" without just a touch of cockiness, you're doomed with boys. A shoulder to cry on? Okay, sure. But never a penis to hold.

More than any other type, Boys Next Door evolve as they get older. As we said, many find true love, but some fail miserably in the search. These tarnished few grow up to be The Men Next Door, who are creepy as hell, offering backrubs to kids and what not.

ALWAYS AVOID: The Billy Goat

CONSIDER: The Gentleman, The Loverboy

[1]Well on my way to work this morning, I passed a military convoy of probably 200 trucks heading south to help the American refugees (it feels weird saying that, in that I have never thought that refugee status would be placed on a developed countries citizens, but it really fits the situation). The first thought in my head, was its about damn time. I really feel for those effected by Hurricane Katrina. And I am utterly sickened by the amount of time it is taking to give these people help. The violence in New Orleans also really just makes me sick. I noticed the estimated death toll in Louisiana alone is predicted to be at 15,000 people dead. That number is staggering to me. Yesterday, the first refugees from the air lift landed at our airport here, and they really looked battered to say the least. I was also wondering why when the evacuation order was given, that the mayor of New Orleans, or someone didn't offer to let the poor and transportationless ride buses to saftey. Surely there is something that could have been done other than shelter these people in a shelter that ultimately falls apart. On a more positive note I am glad to see world support rallying behind the U.S. disaster. It gives me hope to see us as humans, come together in light of destruction. I know I have talked about this thing too much, and we are all heartbroken by the stories, so I will leave it at that.

[2]Chief Justice Rehnquist died last night. Great, now that jackass of a president gets to pick someone else for Supreme Court. We are all so screwed. It would be nice to see him pick a woman since they do make up over 50% of the U.S. population, but I don't expect to see that. It would be nice to see him pick a person who isn't white, but I don't expect to see that. It would be nice to see him really pick a true moderate, but I don't expect to see that.

[3]Guess that is really it, hope everyone is doing okay. Kisses and love

[Current Music |The Click Five's "Just the Girl"]

Well, I am amazed at the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina. I absolutely love New Orleans, like a home, and it saddens me, but I know it can bounce back from the devastation. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those in the storms path and wake. I drew a little today; made a (pathetic) attempt at a still-life. Don't really like it at all. Maybe I will paint tomorrow(well, today). Today is my last day on midnight shift for a week(hell yeah). Plus today and tomorrow is my weekend. Kinda depressing with my weekend in the middle of the week, but oh well. Plus its going to rain (a lot) for a while, so I might as well make the most of it I can. Had quite a bit of flooding around the county today. Hopefully it will all get cleaned up. I also found a new band I like. (For most of you they are probably old news, but I am slow, so they are new to me) They sound a lot like pop, but not the annoying kind. Plus they aren't hard on the eyes. I am thinking about getting my hair like the second from the left or the one on the far right. The hair isn't that different. I just wonder if my hair will straighten out that much. (I know I need to post a picture of my hair, and I will). Anywho, the band...
